I. List of Subsea engineer duties:
  1. Researches available Subsea Controls options as well as stay abreast of current design qualification efforts in the industry in order to implement them into the field architecture.
  2. Generates cost effective field architecture design input, interfacing with Hardware, Pipeline, Flow Assurance, Riser Analysis, Marine, Topside facilities, umbilicals, Distribution etc. as applicable.
  3. Manages project progress, budget, monitor change orders and attend regular project meetings.
  4. Provides technical guidance/coaching to Subsea designers and less experience engineers.
  5. Develops innovative Subsea Controls solutions (interfacing umbilicals, Distribution, PLETs, manifolds and jumpers), inventions, patents, technologies and present these in white papers at industry trade shows.
  6. Prepares and checks design basis, functional specifications, project execution plan and approve project documentation.
  7. Checks specifications, datasheets, reports, technical notes, procedures, Instructions and Notes to Bidders, RFQ and procurement packages for PO award and material requisitions, and bid evaluations.
  8. Stays updated on ISO 9001 procedures.
  9. Provides offshore support as required for the project.
II. List of Subsea engineer qualifications

  1. Degree in Engineering.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil industry.
  3. It is anticipated that both international and domestic business travel to locales with subsea operations will be required. Such locations could include West Africa, Indonesia, North & South America, Australia & Europe.
  4. Candidates must be willing and able to fulfill business travel requirements.
  5. Offshore medical clearance and offshore survival certification.
  6. Capable of serving as Technical Lead on projects, including generation of detailed functional specifications and bid packages, performing bid analysis, review of design and test documentation, interface management, QA/QC and testing oversight, integration testing, installation and system commissioning.
  7. Able to manage technical and commercial aspects of contracts as well as interfaces between vendors and various project stakeholders.
  8. Experienced with applicable industry and regulatory codes, standards, and recommended practices of subsea equipment and systems.
  9. Participation on industry committees (API, ISO, etc.).
  10. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and direct the efforts of others to achieve exceptional performance standards.
  11. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, be self-directing, and exhibit due diligence in pursuit of objectives.
  12. Experienced in project controls, including effective work planning, risk assessment, contingency plans, contract management, and demonstrated business acumen.
  13. Strong communicator, who excels at building relationships with customers, contractors and colleagues.
  14. Places the highest priority on health and safety, in addition to the protection of assets and the environment.
  15. Demonstrated safety leadership and disciplined application of operational excellence management systems.
