Offshore medic functions

I. List of Offshore medic duties:
  1. Lead and conduct Project Risk Assessments (HAZOPs / HAZIDs)
  2. Develop and review project HSE plans and conduct project HSE assurance activities.
  3. Work with internal and external customers to ensure compliance with company HSE guidelines, policies and regulations.
  4. Support the Offshore Project Team to ensure that all HSE issues are identified and resolved.
  5. Understand the components of HSE Mgmt System and assist in its continuing implementation and maintenance.
  6. Develop, implement and maintain company HSE documents adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. (National and International).
  7. Must be able to conduct safety meetings (Tool Box Talks, Job Safety Analysis, etc.)
  8. Support the development of HSE audit programs and leads local / field / process audits
  9. Support the Company HSE mentoring program
  10. Support and lead incident investigations (Tap Root) as assigned. Develop Lessens Learn and share results with Sr Mgmt and the Workforce.
  11. Develop corrective actions to address negative trends and near misses.
  12. Ensure employees conduct job safety assessments on every job and that all personnel understand they are not to take risks and must refuse unsafe work (Stop Work).
  13. Provide direct coaching to improve safety performance and hazard recognition and remediation, provide feedback to supervisors and managers on all local and field audits.
II. List of Offshore medic qualifications
  1. Bachelor degree a must, with 2-5 years experience (offshore related). Medic First Aid Training Instructor, IADC Training Instructor, etc qualifications / certificates a plus.
  2. Travel: Travel is required.  Will travel to offshore sites (rigs, platforms, etc), client owned or contracted vessels in the GOM (and worldwide), plus project related construction sites (offshore and land based).
  3. Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of quality, safety, engineering and oil & gas terminology.  
  4. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills in English. (Comfortable speaking in public forums). Must have past experience in creating (writing) HSE Plans (plus other Project related HSE documents), excellent writing skills, must be able to format documents and above average knowledge of the use of proper grammar.
  5. Must be computer literate.  Independent use of personal computing applications, e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, Outlook; Incident Management systems; and electronic document management systems.
  6. Able to work on their own. Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
  7. Capable of building a strong HSE culture in sub-contractors, plus lead and/or participate in diverse teams
  8. Ability to determine root cause(s) of problems and develop resolution.
  9. Working knowledge of Behavior Based Safety Management and Management of Change process
  10. Working Conditions: Must have flexibility in working hours to achieve assigned responsibilities.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts; in outside weather conditions, both wet and/or humid; and where noise levels may be moderate to loud.
