I. List of Offshore
derrickman duties:
- Develop and maintain Bechtel’s offshore installation procedures and standards
- Support the project teams in planning and executing installation scopes for projects
- Support design basis development by providing installation and constructability input
- Ensure the design and the operation plans are efficient and costeffective, satisfy client requirements and the applicable codes and standards, marine warranty survey requirements, utilize industry’s best practices for safety and quality, while conforming to Bechtel’s own QA/QC requirements
- Provide input to cost & schedule, ensuring seamless interface with the overall project timetable and objectives
- Develop scope of work for installation contractors
- Develop subcontract and procurement specifications
- Develop Request for Quotation of installation packages
- Provide support during procurement activities
- Lead technical and commercial evaluation of proposed installation subcontract and procurement bids
- Participate in installation contractor prequalification, technical and commercial bid review, recommendations to award and bid negotiations
- Review and approve installation design performed by the installation contractors (including specifications, reports, calculation notes, analyses, drawings, datasheets, and technical notes), ensuring that it meets project objectives, industry standards and best practices for safety, reliability and cost
- Monitor third party contractor performance
- Site supervisor as company representative during fabrication, installation and commissioning and perform daily site inspection and witness testing activities in accordance to approved ITP
- Facilitate constructability review and installation HAZID
- Interface with client and contractors on a regular basis
- Interface with regulatory authorities and the Marine Warranty Surveyor
- Travel offshore as required
- Preparation of status reporting on systems completed, punch lists, procedures, and dossier status
- Manage
all aspects of preparation of handover dossiers, including supervising
subcontractors in preparation.
II. List of Offshore
derrickman qualifications
1.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent in a
relevant technical discipline
2.
Clear understanding of fabrication, installation and
commissioning processes and QA/QC requirements
3.
Demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality
4.
A minimum of 15 years of experience in offshore installation
engineering activities, with progressively increasing responsibility, of which
10 years should be in management capacity
5.
Familiarity with new technology and facilities in the
area of installation and commissioning and ability to identify opportunities
for advancement and deployment of key technologies in projects
6.
Good knowledge of industry standards regarding
deepwater fabrication and Installation; knowledge of topsides and subsea
interfaces; experience in reviewing and commenting on offshore installation
contractor design and other related documentation (i.e. specifications, SoW,
procedures, reports, drawings…).
7.
Familiarity with worldwide fabricators, Installers,
knowledge of fabrication facilities & their capabilities, installation
vessel capabilities, features, and pros and cons
8.
Good working knowledge of operational requirements and
philosophies, including precommissioning, commissioning and closeout
9.
Good communication skill, with fluency in English
10.
Welldeveloped relationship skills including work in a
multicultural diverse environment
11.
Competency in Installation analysis software (i.e.
Orcaflex or Flexcom) will be an advantage
12.
Relevant offshore training including HUET & BOSIET
(may be taken after hire)
13.
Physical fitness for offshore deployment on projects.
