I. List of Offshore
chief electrician duties:
- Provide support to the rigs and area based maintenance staff with electrical equipment related issues.
- Communicate with maintenance personnel regarding equipment failures and facilitating the repairs while evaluating and recommending preventive measures to prevent future failures.
- Review relevant maintenance and equipment related issues - identify best practices and provide feedback for the updating of the fleet maintenance system.
- Conduct maintenance audits and provide good quality recommendations as a result of audit findings.
- Provide electrical support for shipyard projects.
- Build relationships with manufacturers and suppliers and participate in facility, workshop, and service quality audits.
- Assist with the development of standardized electrical equipment repair specifications.
- Assist with the development of electrical equipment critical spares list.
- Conduct equipment incident investigations to determine root cause of failures and assist with the implementation of the corrective actions.
- Directly responsible for Electrical & Instrumentation areas for Drillship Power & Control Equipment's installation and commissioning Marine Electrical systems
- Marine Control systems including DP & Thruster Controls
- Drilling system Power & Control
- Monitor and confirm final approval of class and regulatory acceptance of all project E&I work scope.
- Facilitating and troubleshooting the all problems associated with E&I systems.
- Having a sound knowledge on Drillship DP system, Marine Control systems, Drilling system Controls and Power Management Systems
- Applying all assigned contractual, regulatory and standards to the prosecution of the work.
- Ensuring all proper technical specifications, codes and standards adhered.
- Providing highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to department management and personnel.

chief electrician qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years in a similar role in a business of similar size and complexity.
- 10 years offshore as a Electrician/Electrical Supervisor / Chief Engineer or industry experience in the area of related equipment and systems required
- Practical experience in this job classification is required. Bachelor Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred
- Must successfully complete water survival course; valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; valid passport or ability to procure one.
- Must be U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- MS Office skills, ability to quickly learn proprietary software and travel extensively are a must.
- Have good listening skills and the ability to implement instruction and give instructions to others
