I. List of Offshore chief electrician duties:

  1. Provide support to the rigs and area based maintenance staff with electrical equipment related issues.
  2. Communicate with maintenance personnel regarding equipment failures and facilitating the repairs while evaluating and recommending preventive measures to prevent future failures.
  3. Review relevant maintenance and equipment related issues - identify best practices and provide feedback for the updating of the fleet maintenance system.
  4. Conduct maintenance audits and provide good quality recommendations as a result of audit findings.
  5. Provide electrical support for shipyard projects.
  6. Build relationships with manufacturers and suppliers and participate in facility, workshop, and service quality audits.
  7. Assist with the development of standardized electrical equipment repair specifications.
  8. Assist with the development of electrical equipment critical spares list.
  9. Conduct equipment incident investigations to determine root cause of failures and assist with the implementation of the corrective actions.
  10. Directly responsible for Electrical & Instrumentation areas for Drillship Power & Control Equipment's installation and commissioning Marine Electrical systems
  11. Marine Control systems including DP & Thruster Controls
  12. Drilling system Power & Control
  13. Monitor and confirm final approval of class and regulatory acceptance of all project E&I work scope.
  14. Facilitating and troubleshooting the all problems associated with E&I systems.
  15. Having a sound knowledge on Drillship DP system, Marine Control systems, Drilling system Controls and Power Management Systems
  16. Applying all assigned contractual, regulatory and standards to the prosecution of the work.
  17. Ensuring all proper technical specifications, codes and standards adhered.
  18. Providing highly skilled technical and management advice and assistance to department management and personnel.

II. List of Offshore chief electrician qualifications

  1. Minimum of 10 years in a similar role in a business of similar size and complexity.
  2. 10 years offshore as a Electrician/Electrical Supervisor / Chief Engineer or industry experience in the area of related equipment and systems required
  3. Practical experience in this job classification is required. Bachelor Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred
  4. Must successfully complete water survival course; valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; valid passport or ability to procure one.
  5. Must be U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
  6. MS Office skills, ability to quickly learn proprietary software and travel extensively are a must.
  7. Have good listening skills and the ability to implement instruction and give instructions to others
