I. List of Offshore assistant mechanic duties:

  1. Responsibility, at a high level, includes application availability, reliability and stability on a 7 by 24 by 365 basis.
  2. Be willing to work on 24x7 on call basis.
  3. Ensure timely resolution of all production issues meeting or exceeding SLAs.
  4. Ensure that the work delivered by the team is of high quality.
  5. Work with business to prioritize production issues for resolution.
  6. Assist Service Coordinator and Service Manager in providing management status reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  7. Assist Service Coordinator and Service Manager in scheduling OM and work order tasks including management of customer-driven priorities.
  8. Ensure that all documentation has been updated and that work product meets UDP / SOX compliance
    Requirements:
  9. Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan.
  10. Assist Service Coordinator as a liaison between offshore resources and business/ onsite IT management.
  11. Assist in Providing estimates (or coordinate estimates from off shore) on all break/fix, and problem-management activities.
  12. Identify application performance improvement initiatives and implement the same in consultation with the Service Coordinator and Service Manager.
  13. Work with the Service Coordinator and Service Manager in process improvement initiatives as directed by the service manager.

II. List of Offshore assistant mechanic qualifications


  1. 3+ years experience in Core Java, J2EE, Webservices, JMS/Messaging, Servlets, JDBC, XML
  2. Experience with Application Servers, preferably WAS7.1
  3. Knowledge ofHIPAA X12 transactions required (i.e.. 270/271 - Eligibility, 276/277 - Claims Status, 837 - Claims Submission, 835 - Remits, 278 -Auth & Referrals, 834 - Enrollment, 820 - Premium, Paper Claims).
  4. Ability to quickly grasp and analyze issues and come up with detailed analysis.
  5. Accustomed to working in fast paced time-frame and goal oriented environment
  6. Able to deliver under extreme pressure and time constraints
  7. Good written and oral communication skills
  8. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
    Assets:
  9. Knowledge of Scheduling software (i.e. Autosys/TWS)
  10. Healthcare domain experience
  11. Exposure to Unix operating system & basic commands
  12. Knowledge of DB2 and SQL commands
  13. Unix advanced commands
  14. Tools experience with Clearcase, SVN, TOAD/DBVisualizer, SOAPUI, HP Quality central, HPSM
  15. Methods/Concepts experience with OOPS, OOAD, Extreme Programming, SDLC
  16. Knowledge of software quality process & compliance procedures (e.g. SOX, ISO)
  17. WTX experience
