I. List of Assistant subsea engineer duties:

  1. Working with a lead engineer, producing the following:
  2. Finite Element Analysis on pipelines
  3. Technical reports
  4. Summary presentations of computer simulations to present to clients
  5. Work with other Atkins staff on group projects in the provision of integrated consultancy services.
  6. Researches available Subsea Controls options as well as stay abreast of current design qualification efforts in the industry in order to implement them into the field architecture.
  7. Generates cost effective field architecture design input, interfacing with Hardware, Pipeline, Flow Assurance, Riser Analysis, Marine, Topside facilities, umbilicals, Distribution etc. as applicable.
  8. Manages project progress, budget, monitor change orders and attend regular project meetings.
  9. Provides technical guidance/coaching to Subsea designers and less experience engineers.
  10. Develops innovative Subsea Controls solutions (interfacing umbilicals, Distribution, PLETs, manifolds and jumpers), inventions, patents, technologies and present these in white papers at industry trade shows.

II. List of Assistant subsea engineer qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or greater in mechanical or structural engineering
  2. A minimum of two years’ experience.
  3. Experience of Abacus finite element analysis software
  4. Good understanding of stress and fatigue analysis
  5. Selfmotivated.
  6. Excellent communication, report writing and presentation
  7. Familiar with field development scenarios, umbilicals, Distribution and subsea Controls (D/H, E/H, MUX) design and installation scenarios both in shallow and deep water. Primarily in the GOM.
  8. Knowledgeable of subsea design codes (API, SAE, ICE, NORSOK, ISO).
  9. Able to demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problem efficiently and economically
