Offshore painter functions

I. List of Offshore painter duties:
      1.            Cleans grease and dirt from products
      2.            Removes rust from metal surfaces with blasting agents
      3.            Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
      4.            Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
      5.            Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.
      6.            Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose.
      7.            Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray.
      8.            Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
      9.            Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush or other means
  10.            Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
  11.            Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor.
II. List of Offshore painter qualifications
  1. Prior offshore coatings experience required
  2. Prior experience in a Supervisory Role required
  3. Effective communication skills
  4. Proficent in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  5. Experience using safe work habits
  6. Ability to read gauge on paint pot.
  7. Ability to repair paint pot and blast pot when required.
  8. Knowledge of reading both wet and dry mils gauge in addition to being able to read an air gauge.
  9. Able to mix paint.
  10. Knowledge of how to read paint specs in addition to knowledge of how much solid is in paint at any time.
  11. Ability to set up blast area and paint area for required projects in a contained environment.
  12. Ability to hold a J.S.A. meeting when required/requested.
  13. Ability to set up a project/job from start to finish.
  14. Ability to correctly work with any paint inspector. Must have knowledge in how to correctly and properly order required material.
  15. Ability to run a crew to properly, safely, and completely complete a job.
  16. Must have exceptional work ethic to include Attendance and Dependability to assigned tasks and projects.
  17. Must have a strong desire to grow and learn the different opportunities that are available for advancement within the company.
